Ageless Beauty

October 25, 2005

Ageless beauty
Cruelty makes its holes
But on the shoreline
Time will hold its promise
We will always be a light
You can see it from the surface
We will always be a light.

Stay tuned

The previous posts (the handful that exists anyway) make me sound like I spent a whole month locked up in a small room with Frank Kafka. Must make more jokes. Did you hear the one about the chicken that crossed the street? Anyone?

On with the hosannas

October 11, 2005

I signed my life away today. This agreement with this son of Satan is the biggest thing I’ve ever done my whole life. I wish the Manager didn’t look that smug sitting on the other side of what seems to be half the Malaysian rainforest he calls his desk. Or at least have the decency to wait till I’m gone.

He looked like the cat who not only devoured the cream and the canary but also the nasi dagang you were saving for buka puasa, and the crème brûlée that would have been desert. People shouldn’t be allowed to smile that wide.

Bankers. What a bunch.

Hey you

October 9, 2005

God, that was strange to see you again, introduced by a friend of a friend.

Smiled and said “yes, I think we’ve met before.”

We stood in silence across Telawi. And all of the time you thought I was sad. I was just trying to remember your name.

So there’s this one thing I have always wanted to say:

You were what I wanted. I gave what I gave. I’m not sorry I met you. I’m not sorry it’s over. I’m not sorry there’s nothing to say

I really don’t.

Quotable Quotes

October 7, 2005

Having nothing better to do and I had about an hour to kill time before iftar, I moseyed over to the bookshop after work to browse and look at books ie sit and freeload and not pay for the reading material. The days are just packed eh. Sat down at the reading room and managed to copy quotes from the funniest quotes you never thought of saying book.

Some of my favs:

When she raised her eyelids, it was as if she was taking off her clothes“-Colette

Only one kind of love lasts, unrequited” – somerset Maugham

Love is loving somone, no matter what their faults in a blind and unconditional way: like the love Tony Blair has for George W. Bush“- Hugh Grant (Never thought this guy was a demoncrat)

A gentleman has never heard the story before“-Austin O’Malley

Writers should be read and not seen. Rarely are they a winsome sight“-Elizabeth Von Arnim

Erica. You are a woman to love” – Jack Nicholson

I judge how much a man cares for a woman by the space he allocates her under a jointly shared umbrella” – Jimmy something(can’t read my own writing for fucksake)

You know you’re in love when you’re willing to leave you ATM number“-Anon

Maybe I can use this one day. They make great lines. I sound intelligent just typing it.
